Hi, I am new to this and I am glad I found this site. My pc has been running somewhat slower and rebooting slow an I am sure I have things running that don't need to be.

PROCESSES 82
CPU USAGE 61%
PHYSICAL MEMORY 33%
Are these numbers good or bad?
Could someone please help me figure out what processes I need running and what I don't need. I don't have much knowledge when it comes to computers. I need to learn how to do things on my own and I would appreciate any and all help. If needed I can send a copy of what processes are running.

Thank You So Very Much
Christy

What all do you have running at start time?

You can tell this by the number of icons you have on your system tray where the clock is.

I would also recommend defragging your hard drive as that could hinder performance.

Can you download Process Explorer and take a screen shot of the window taking a screenshot in Vista and host the image up on http://www.tinypic.com and post the link here.

11 startup items is a lot. You really only require your antvirus and firewall. Anything else can be used when needed.

I would remove McAfee and get Microsoft Security Essentials. Its free, and runs less intrusively.
