I have two machines. XP and '98. I am running through a router, the 98 machine can't connect. I can ping ip addys from command prompt but not url's. Nothing changed with the router. I read about WinFix, to fix the tcp/ip. Haven't found anything for 98. Sounds like WinFix would do what I need.

Are you referring to Winfixer 2005? If you are that is a piece of spyware. It is very hard to remove once it is on your system.

You might want to try LSP fix from Cexx.org.
