I've looked through the manual, and I don't see anything about locating or replacing the CMOS battery on this laptop. I'd rather not take the thing apart blind... Does anyone know off the top of their head? Or have a manual I missed on the Dell site?
I was trying to install Windows XP on this laptop and came across this error:
The file I386\Ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded. The error code is 7.
My research suggest replacing or reseating the CMOS battery and the RAM.

the battery is replaceable and it is removable for what you want to do but be advised it is soldered to the Mobo, Ok so now it is located on the bottom of the mobo see here: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forum...t/18577570.aspx the title is wrong but if you read far enough it is really about your model laptop.
