BleepingComputer.com: BSOD Power State Failure 0x9F

Hello to all. I am seeking assistance in resolving a BSOD that seems to be occurring at an increasing rate. I have crashed 4 times today.

Using Who Crashed I can determine the most recent crash dump information
Bugcheck code: 0x9F (0x3, 0x87F2F030, 0x87F2F030, 0x8566A618)
Error: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

Searches on the internet seem to point to a driver problem. However I cannot determine what driver is causing the problem. When I check Who Crashed, I get the following informtion:

The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect, possibly the culprit is in another driver on your system which cannot be identified at this time

Again from the internet, I get the idea that a driver is “hiding” somewhere.

Separately, I have checked my Vista Event Viewer and before every crash was this error message

The description for Event ID 117 from source O2SDRDR cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

Can you try this:

Download BlueScreenView (in Zip file)
No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.
