Last thursday, I was talking to all my friends on Ventrilo when I got the Internet Security 2010 malware pop up on my computer. After using Rkill and Malwarebytes, it fixed everything, but then I had to take off the proxy settings on my internet programs and now my microphone volume is very low, even with all the boosts enabled (like +20 DB and such) and my friends say they can't hear me as well as they did before. Did Rkill do something to my microphone? I have a Dell E1505 laptop, and a Labtec AM-242 microphone (a pretty old one) so I would like to know if anyone has a solution.

Malwarebytes should not have effected the mic at all. At least I wouldn't think so.
I use it almost daily.

If you are using the standard windows volume control click on options then check advanced.
The mic selection will now have an advanced button, click it and make sure that 1 mic boost is checked
Worth checking
In the beginning there was the command line.
