We're out in the sticks, in thunderstorm country. We're also very close to a big transformer platform, and in the summer they seem to be working on it once a week or so.

Our systems plug in to 3 surge protectors which are plugged into UPSs. We get a lot of outages, and even more "blinks," where the lights flicker.

Not always, but often enough to be annoying, one of our 2 desktops will power off during a "blink," while other devices on the same strip stay on. Our two printers also cycle.

Any ideas on what's happening and how to fix?

I'm not very computer literate, but I'm good at following instructions.

TIA,

lackwit

It depends on the power supply's built in protection circuit and how responsive it is to blank-outs/black-outs.

You mentioned 3 computers, do all 3 have the same power supply?

Can you post the brand name and specs on the power supply you say shuts down?

Bruce.
Please take notice. Oreo and I will not be available until June of 2012.
Thank you for understanding my absence, it is job and college related, so all is good. If I do not answer your PMs this is the reason why. See you all soon!

Bruce.

Shouldn't the UPS be plugged into the surge protector? To protect the UPS?
