To stop these notifications, or change how you are notified, you should follow these steps:
- Click on your name in the upper right-hand of a forum page to access the member menu.
- Click on the My Settings link in the member menu.
- You should now be your Control Panel. At this point click on the Forums tab.
- Now select the Manage Watched Topics option.
You will be presented with a list of topics that you are subscribed to organized by the various forums at BleepingComputer.com. Please note that by default this screen will only show topics that are 30 days old or sooner. To increase the range of visible subscriptions, scroll to the bottom and change the Show Topics from: drop-down menu to a larger range.
Now, simply place a check mark in the checkbox on the right of each topic that you would like to unsubscribe. When you are done selecting the topics, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the drop down menu to select what action you would like to perform.
These actions are described below:
- Unsubscribe - Completely unsubscribe from the topic. You will no longer receive any notifications when people reply to the selected topics.
- Change to: No Notification - You will remain subscribed to the topic, but will no longer receive notifications when someone replies to it.
- Change to: Immediate Notification - You will immediately be emailed a notification when someone replies to this topic.
- Change to: Delayed Notification - The notification will go out later in the day.
- Change to: Daily Digest - You will receive a daily compilation of all topic notifications.
- Change to: Weekly Digest - You will receive a weekly compilation of all topic notifications.
When you have selected the option you wish to perform on all selected topics, click on the with selected button next to the drop down menu.
You have now changed the type of subscription you have for these topics based on your choices.
