When you subscribe to a topic you will receive notifications when a new reply is made to that topic via email.
To stop these notifications, or change how you are notified, you should follow these steps:
  1. Click on the link called My Controls at the top of a page in the forums. This will bring you to your user control panel.

  2. On the left hand side you will see various options organized by category. Scroll down till you see the category called Subscriptions.

  3. Click on the link called View Topics under the Options category.

  4. You will be presented with a list of topics that you are subscribed to organized by the various forums at BleepingComputer.com. Simply place a check mark in the checkbox on the right of each topic that you would like to unsubscribe.

  5. When you are done selecting the topics, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the drop down menu to select what action you would like to perform. These actions are described below:
    1. Unsubscribe - Completely unsubscribe from the topic. You will no longer receive any notifications when people reply to the selected topics.
    2. Change to: No Email Notification - You will remain subscribed to the topic, but will no longer receive notifications when someone replies to it.
    3. Change to: Immediate Email Notification - You will immediately be emailed a notification when someone replies to this topic.
    4. Change to: Delayed Email Notification - The notification will go out later in the day.
    5. Change to: Daily Email Digest - You will receive a daily compilation of all topic notifications.
    6. Change to: Weekly Email Digest - You will receive a weekly compilation of all topic notifications.
  6. Click on the with selected button next to the drop down menu.
You have now changed the type of subscription you have for these topics based on your choices.

Okay, so I'm not a new member/user, but I have run into a bit of a glitch here.
When I click on the "my topics" entry on the very top(in between "my blog" and "my controls", I am presented with a full page of topics!

I read thru your instructions regarding subscriptions(found on the left panel after clicking on "my controls". It would appear that there is a huge difference in the number of "subscribed topics" vs just clicking on the "my topics".

Can you help me tidy this up,please?

Thank you

honu1

The my topics listing will show all topics that you've posted to back about 30 - 60 days.
There is no user modification for this listing.

Topics that one subscribes to will generate a PM notification when a new post is added to the thread.

So will these eventually drop off after a few months? I'd hate to have to search thru numerous pages to find my topics.

Thanks for the input! thumbup2.gif

The 'my topics listing' does have an end date. Mine appears to be about 60 +\- days.

Topics subscribed to continue on unless one unsubscribes.

/And you're welcome.

I do have one question; How I can unsunscribe from a single topic, but remain subscribed to all the other topics that I post it, or have posted in?

I have read all postings in this topic. It has been very informative, except for one thing.

When I go to my controls, and attempt to look for the title explained in post 1 I do not have that link. I also do not have a manage anywhere on the page.
I went to my controls and went looking...nada.

All I want to do is unsub from the misplaced HJT logs forum.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thank you
