If you would like to subscribe to an existing topic so that you are notified when a user responds to it,you should follow these steps.

1. Visit the topic you would like to subscribe to.

2. At the top of the topic, you will see a Watch Topic (Posted Image) button.

3. Click on that button and select the type of subscription you want to use.

4. When done, click on the Proceed button to subscribe to that topic.

You are now subscribed to this topic.

If you are already subscribed to the topic, then it will state that when you attempt to subscribe.

Hey HyVong,

Well, now I'm going to make your day by replying to one of YOUR posts....

You will find that BC has the most helpful, knowledgeable and downright nice people. No cliques, no flaming or trolling and they provide useful and free advice.

I've been a member on forums and sites before where this isn't the case. It's a breath of fresh air, Bleeping Computer.

Hope you have a great time here.

How can I set it to where it won't add any topics to by subscriptions? In other words, I would like to make all subscriptions manually.

The preceding instructions are for 'manually' subscribing to a topic. If you are asking if you can pick and choose which replies you get a notification for on any given topic/thread. That is not possible. It also means you are visiting the thread to pick and choose, so why subscribe? Subscribing to a topic means you get every reply notification.

I hope I have understood your request properly.

MaryBoo, to get help with a problem in Windows ME, you need to post your problem in the forum set up to help with those problems. Here is the link to that forum...

That is the whole problem...every thread I post a reply in sends me an email notification. I do not want this. If I want an email notification I would like to do it manually. Do I have to disable email notifications completely to pick and choose?

Then you need to change such in your control panel.

"Privacy Settings" & "Board Preferences"

Un-Tick the Email Notifications by Default box....

Hello,

I have Windows XP Pro, SP3.

I dont' know why I am not getting email notifications.

My "Settings\Notification Options\Notification Preferences\Watch every topic I reply to" is checked.

"Topics & Posts\Notification method to use for topic replies and reply digests" is checked under Email.

"Topics & Posts\Notify me when someone quotes my posts" is checked under Email.

The threads that i have started show a "Stop Watching Topic" button not a "Watch Topic" button.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks,
Tony
