C140x biometric the scanner won't work

I have a Gateway C140x running Windows Vista Business, and since I bought it, I've had no problems with it. Recently, I tried to set up a fingerprint log on through Protector Suite QL, but the software says it "cannot find the fingerprint reader, and to plug in or enable it." So of course, when I go to enable the driver, there is no driver there. Then I get the driver disk that came with my Convertible Notebook, and sure enough, there was no driver on the disc. I've been looking online for the driver for 7 hours, and still cannot find it. If someone could please tell me where I could find this driver before I go insane with nonworking drivers and internet scams!

What was the resolution?
My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.
