system restore system restore doesn't work

I recently had my pc cleaned of spyware and malaware by someone at BleepingComputer. The pc was cleaned all infections, but I noticed recently that it slowed down a bit and is not as responsive as when it was clean. I created a new restore point when the pc was cleaned. I am now trying to restore the pc back to that date and it doesn't work. The date is there it goes thru the process but it doesn't work. I even tried doing it in safe mode and that still didn't work. Please advise what steps I should try next.
