I downloaded ComboFix from both sites from bleeping computer, and when I try to open it nothing happens except it opens some proccesses like: n.pif, iexplore.exe (doesn't open IE), Combofix.exe, and others but nothing appears on my screen. Does it just take a long time to load or is it something else?

Hi fonytony.

It's likely that malware is preventing ComboFix from working correctly.

First. . . a warning for the benefit of both you and others who may read this thread.

ComboFix (CF for short) is intended by its creator to be "used under the guidance and supervision of an expert", NOT for personal, unsupervised use. Please read Combofix's Disclaimer. When CF is run without trained assistance, it can no longer be considered a "safe" tool. Using this tool incorrectly could lead to disastrous problems with your operating system such as preventing it from ever starting again.

Now. . . regarding your issue. . . there are a couple paths you can take. . . which one you choose is up to you. Firstly, you can submit a case to the Malware Removal forum where a trained specialist will help you clean the machine. This would be my recommended course of action. The downside to this is that you'll need to wait a few days for a response, as the MRT is made up of volunteers and are constantly overloaded with requests for help creating a waiting list. For information on how to do this see this guide.

If you don't wish to do the above. . . then there's not a whole lot we can do to help you other than some general suggestions that aren't specific to CF. This is because there's really no way to know what's causing the problem without doing a rather in depth analysis of what's going on in the machine. The first of said suggestions is to try it in Safe Mode.
