Kernel Mode Driver Problem

Once in a while my laptop screen goes black and then resolves itself with an error message stating:

Display Driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version xxx.xx stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

Sorry I do not remember the specific number but when it happens again I will definately post it here. This occurs a lot when I am browsing flash movies or jsut clicking around on my laptop sometimes.

System Specs:

Toshiba Satellite Windows 7

Intel Core i5 M 430 @ 2.27 GHz

4 gigs ram

64 bit OS

1gig nVidea 330gt gforce card

EDIT: Another reason I can think of is that maybe windows 7 isn't compatible with nvidea drivers?

Hello and welcome to Bleepingcomputer.

Below is a link to the Nvidia automated driver web page, there is a green download tab called download on this page click it and allow the ActiveX plug in to download and intall, this will locate the correct driver for your laptop and allow you to either download and save or download and install.

Good luck and hope this installs the correct Windows 7 64 Bit driver.

It is most likely an eventviewer errorid 4101.

I have the same problem with Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit, not XP and have tried everything possible to fix it with no success.
Could you elaborate a bit.
Windows 7 version?
What brand laptop?
Any custom changes performed on the laptop. Ram single channel??

My specs
Windows 7 ultimate/XP pro dual boot
GPU: 8800gts g80 640 mb, GTX 470 send back for RMA (same problem)
i7 930
GA-x58a-ud3r (rev 1.0)
3*2 gig OCZ gold 1333 mhz
750 W cooler master single rail.
