So here's problem 1:

Sometimes, after pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete, only 1 processing core is visible (no 2/dual indicators). Same can be seen in Device Manager. OK, so this happens rarely and sometimes... first time was "catched" when using EVEREST. I would think it's BIOS, DX, WinXP + Athlon II related. Haven't noticed before for a long time.

Problem 2:

Discete drive couldn't be removed from system; has no such device in my hardware. Reapplies after each reboot... had to disable in Device Manager.

Would appreciate your help very much! Thx.

On the Performance tab...double-click CPU Usage...you should see two graphs (actually 3, 1 composite and 2 individual).

I have an Athon II processor...both Device Manager and Task Manager reflect both cores...I have no clue why your system is different.

If you mean "diskette drive could not be removed", then I would say that relates to a floppy drive.

I think I'd replace the CMOS battery and see if these hardware-related situations disappear.
