The wireless is not working on a Compaq Presairo F500 under device manager I checked under network adapters(think thats the one i should check?) there is only NVDIA NnForce Networking controller. I think there should be a broadcom driver .I Checked the hp site and downloaded it onto a usb stick from another computer and loaded it on to the Compaq but no joy. Very stuck any help would be great. Thanks

Is your wireless card activated?

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

Usually fn+F2 but it varies with each lap top.

Better yet follow this: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00065819.pdf

Either your network card is dead, or you are installing the wrong version of driver. Are you installing a 64bit Driver?
