Does the same apply to AV's also???
No. The rule is ONE anti-virus program installed, ONE firewall operational, MANY anti-spyware tools available.
.... Scarlett covered it. (I swear it wasn't there 20mins ago!)
Soltek QBIC, Pentium 4 3.0GHz, 512MB RAM, 200GB SATA HDD, ATI Radeon 9600XT 256MB, Netgear 54Mb/s WAP, ridiculously expensive Satellite Broadband
Windows XP Home SP2, Trend Micro Internet Security, Firefox, Thunderbird, AdAwareSE, Spybot S&D, SpywareBlaster, A-squared Free, Ewido Security Suite.

One thing about the anti virus. If you are running Norton that is several months or years old and do not have a subscription, you may not be protected. You need a subscription to Norton to stay up to date. If you don't then uninstall Norton and install AVG or Avast. You should never allow you anti-virus to be go more than a few days without updating the definition.

I have Norton 2005 on my comp. I run it and maintance weekly. When it expires, I plan on switching to AVG ,as has been recommended.
I will check out the link you included Scarlett.....thank you so much.

I had a bad experience with MacAfee when I had it on a '98 box. I switched to AVG with 14 months left on my subscription. Never missed it.
