Downloaded Windows Media Player 7.1 and now there is only 16 colors available, and taking it off is not helping. Is there a way to get the colors back, or a way to reset my computer to an earlier date before all of this happened. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Wesley,
I don't think that downloading the new media player really had anything to do with this particular problem, which is why uninstalling it did not help. The first thing to always try in order to save valuable time is to use system restore. If that doesn't work, you may need to reinstall the display drivers for your graphics adapter.
Regards,
Bill

Have you tried resetting the colors in Desktop Properties? It could indeed be a problem with your video drivers. Default VGA is 640 x 480 x 16. If you have Win 98, there's no going back, unless your registry was corrupted. Do you have software that came with your video card, or do you have to change it by right-clicking on the desktop and choosing the "settings" tab?
To check your video card drivers, hold down the Windows key (the one with the pic of a window on it) and press the pause/break key. This should bring up your Device Manager. Check to see if you have any big yellow question marks or exclamation points in the list.
