What this program does:
Internet Keyword is a variant of CommonName which redirects Internet Explorer's browser bar and certain search engine's reults to display it own data and open popups. CommonName has an extremely loose Software License Agreement which basically states it can do whatever it wants to on your machine.
An excerpt from this license agreement is found below:

related phrases into either the browser address bar or certain search engines.
The websites that you locate are not stored on CommonName's servers. CommonName
does not and cannot control what content is available to you using the Software.

CommonName will do its best to continue offering the services “as is”, but may be required for various reasons, within or not within our control to alter any part of its services. Symptoms in a HijackThis Log:
O2 - BHO: Browser - {046D6EA4-15E3-4b27-8010-45BD78A9219E} - c:\program files\INTERN~1\inetkw.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [inetmgr] c:\program files\INTERN~1\inetmgr.exe
Processes running on the machine:
c:\program files\Internet Keyword\inetmgr.exe
c:\program files\Internet Keyword\inetsvc.exe
Instructions:
Automatic Removal:
Remove this program through the provided Add/Remove Programs entry. To uninstall it follow these steps:
- Enter the control panel.
- Double-click on the Add/Remove Programs link.
- Look for any entries with the words Internet Keyword or
CommonName and uninstall them.. If it opens a webpage and
prompts you to enter a code.
Please enter the code found there. It will then launch an uninstaller. Allow that program to run.
- If you can not find an entry for these, navigate to c:\program
files\internet keyword, and double-click on the uninst.exe
file found there.
- If you can not find an entry for these, navigate to c:\program
files\internet keyword, and double-click on the uninst.exe
file found there.
- Reboot your computer
- Download HijackThis and extract it to c:\hijackthis.
- Navigate to the c:\hijackthis directory and double-click on HijackThis
- When the program starts, double-click on the HijackThis icon and then click
on the Scan button.
- If you see any entries similar to the above examples put a checkmark
next to that entry.
- Then click the Fix button
- If you see any entries similar to the above examples put a checkmark
next to that entry.
- If there were no matching entries, or you are finished, close HijackThis.
- Reboot your computer into Safe
Mode
- Delete the following directory: C:\Program Files\internet keyword\
if it exists.
- Reboot your computer and let it boot normally.
Manual Removal:
- Download killbox here:
Pocket KillBox
- Unzip the downloaded file to your desktop.
- Navigate to the killbox folder now on your desktop and double-click on
Killbox.exe
- Select the Delete on reboot option
- In the Full
path of file to delete field copy and paste the following into the
field:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET KEYWORD\INETSVC.EXE
- Now press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it.
- When it asks if you would like to continue and reboot, press the NO button.
- In the Full path of file to delete field copy and paste
the following into the field:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET KEYWORD\INETMGR.EXE
- Now press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it.
- This time when it asks you to reboot, press the Yes button.
- Let the computer reboot
- Download HijackThis and extract it to c:\hijackthis.
- Navigate to the c:\hijackthis directory and double-click on HijackThis
- When the program starts, double-click on the HijackThis icon and then click
on the Scan button.
- If you see any entries similar to the ones below put a checkmark
next to that entry:
O2 - BHO: Browser - {046D6EA4-15E3-4b27-8010-45BD78A9219E} - c:\program files\INTERN~1\inetkw.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [inetmgr] c:\program files\INTERN~1\inetmgr.exe
- Then click the Fix button
- If you see any entries similar to the ones below put a checkmark
next to that entry:
- If there were no matching entries, or you are finished, close HijackThis.
- Reboot your computer into Safe
Mode
- Delete the following directory: C:\Program Files\internet keyword\ if
it exists.
- Reboot your computer and let it boot normally.
Your computer should now be clean of the Internet Keyword CommonName variant.
