I am working on a Dell Studio 1535 running Vista Home Prem and I have been getting a hard drive error ( drive is faulty and do a backup before losing your files, etc) I ran chkdsk and fixed a few errors as well as running the Hard Disk regenerator program and all seems fine. I have used disk doctor and 2 other h/d testing programs and all tests passed. I replaced the original Samsung H/D about 6 months ago. I am still getting an automatic consistancy test upon restart. Is it possible that this is an false error? Is there any other way to check this further? Thanks

I would run the appropriate hard drive manufacturers diagnostic tools and use those to test the drive and be sure to use the LONG test.
