presario m2000 can't get into cmos

Hi, I have a presario m2000 and when I turn it on it bees twice and "press F1 to resume, F2 to setup" shows on the screen. When I press either key nothing happens, I have tried to get into setup when the compaq splash screen comes up but no keys are working. I have replaced the keyboard(same thing happens) and taken the cmos battery out for 20 minutes(same results). It doesn't look like there is a setup password. I'm hoping not to replace the motherboard. Any suggestion would be helpful.
