Greetings.

Everytime I open any MS Office application, without my consent the Save As dialog box keeps on popping up.
Can anyone help me diagnose what's happening to my laptop?

Additional Information:
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
Antivirus: Kaspersky Antivirus 2010
MS Office Version 2007

I DON'T HAVE windows, using Mac but I think if you check your preferences either for your computer and/or your browser you should find what it is. Sorry not more help

I don't have a fix per se, but if it were me I would download Open Office.org . You can Google it and it will be the first link at the top, and bleep can the MS Office. Why? 1. Open Office is much better in my opinion. It's more user friendly, especially sending over the net. Example: My girlfriend was trying to send a resume' via email in MS 2010. It came across non readable. So they said try MS 2007, same. Then 2003...same. I copied it to Open Office and sent it as an .odt file and it went across perfect the first time. It's compatible with all MSOffice versions, plus Lotus notes, and practically every other office prog made. They make it for Windows, Linux, OS X, and last but not least it's FREE. Very user friendly and forgiving.
Since I started using it I've never used anything else, well over 5 yrs now. Download it and give it a spin. Its a full blown Office Suite. You couldn't ask for more. Was made by Sun Microsystems. Now it has the Oracle logo on it but it's still the same great program. Maybe Oracle bought Sun...I don't know. I just know I'll never switch.
Good luck

Hello, Not an Office user myself but found this in MSFT newsgroups.

Microsoft Office >> Save As window keeps popping up This could be caused by a third-party add-in since Word does not
automatically prompt the Save As dialog. And if you are using Word as
your email editor in Outlook then the likely cause is an add-in,
either a global template or COM Add-in found in Word.

To determine if you are using any global templates go to
Tools/Templates and Add-Ins and see if there are any global templates
or add-ins listed. If so they are located in one of your Startup
folders. The location of the Word\Startup folder can be found under
Tools/Options/File Locations and the Office\Startup folder can be
found in the Office installation path..

Take a look in each folder and if you find more than one file move
them one at a time and try duplicating the error after each file is
moved out of the folder until you determine which one is causing the
problem.

As of Word 2000, Word can have COM add-ins. COM are added via the
Registry rather than the Startup folders. To determine whether or not
you are using COM Add-In you can add the "COM Add-in" command to your
toolbar:

- Right-click any toolbar and select Customize
- On the Commands tab, select the Tools category
- Locate COM Add-Ins on the right
- Drag/Drop to a location of your choice
- Close the Customize dialog and click the COM Add-in command

To unload an add-in remove the tick in the check box in the dialog.

For more information on COM Add-Ins, see this article:
