Help
I recently went through a major decontamination with my computer and even though I believe I've gotten the computer cleaned up, I'm having trouble with processes that won't start up when I reboot/boot up. Most noticeably, the DHCP, Themes, and Wireless Zero Config. The result is a desktop that looks like W95 and an inability to access wired/wireless networks. Now, when I go in to the Services panel, each of those is set to Automatic and I am able to start each one manually, but I haven't a clue on how to get them working properly again so that they start up at boot.
Can anyone help me?

This is my work computer and our tech support guy was here two days ago. The XP repair either failed or did not fix the problem. As I put in my 'Hello' message, I'm here b/c I'm tired of relying on our 'support', which is actually located 2-1/2 hours away. He gave me the option of letting him take the computer back and doing a full Windows restore (back to the new condition) and overnighting it back to me. Since I'm able to work on it, I told him to leave it with me so I could still get work done and that I'd 'explore other resources' for trying to resolve my problems.
I knew I was in trouble with the tech asked if I happened to have any floppies laying around.

Well...after malware...a repair install isn't guaranteed to be effective, it's only an effort.
I would have opted for the restore/recovery, since that seems the ultimate way to be sure of stability/performance...and elimination of malware agents.

That's still an option. I just don't want to give up my computer during work days when it is mostly working for me, and I was hoping to find the cause of my trouble and fix it. While not being a power user, I am pretty computer savvy and feel comfortable with most of the techniques I've seen advised on here.
I just noticed, after posting this reply originally, that my google search redirects are back. As such, I think I should repost over in Virus, Spyware, etc. forum as a starting place and this topic should be closed/deleted.
