Hello all, and thanks for such a helpful site. I was getting Tidserv Request 2 blocked by Norton 360, and went snooping on your website for some direction, and got all I needed and more. TDSSkiller found a corrupted serial.sys, and a followup scan with MBAM located a dormant but incompletely removed AV installation. It's more than a little disappointing that all this managed to slip past Norton 360, but at least it seems to have prevented any real damage to the system. I had my head in a pillow, thinking the router firewall and Norton 360 together were 'adequate' security.
