Hey guys,

I got up this morning, and Windows was still up, but, there were no icons on the screen - just the wallpaper. It had been left on. Nothing worked, even CTRL-ALT-DELETE. I just cut it off, and when it came up, the "HP INVENT" screen flashes, but, nothnig happens after that. Cannot get to even the Windows XP screen.

I went into the BIOS and it apparently still recognizes the hard drive and the memory.

The computer has Windows XP Media Center Edition. I have an extry copy of XP, SP2 laying around. I put the CD in and got to the screen where I could choose "recovery console." Should I try to do that?

Thanks.

Jeremy

Fixed! I had to go to REGEDIT - the explorer file had gotten corrupt!

I'm curious as to how you used regedit...without being able to boot into XP.
