Help
By default both XP Home and Pro have allot of eye candy turned on. I don't need all of that extra stuff running on my PC so I turn it off. Here's how, Right click My Computer and choose Properties. Now click Advanced and then click Settings under Performance. Choose adjust for best performance and click Apply and then OK. Hope this helps someone.

Good one it really does help I found this one about a month ago and let me say it sped my pc up! But if you have lots of ram then dont mess with it.

If I may, add to your suggestion.
On the performance options, where you made the change 'adjust for best performance', you can also click the advanced tab, and change both processor scheduling and memory usage to programs. By default, they should already be checked, but if they are not, then you may see about a 5% difference.
