I'm unsure if this is an ISDN problem or a USB glitch. It's certainly happening more often since I migrated to a new machine so I'm totally unsure.
When the connection freezes I can disconnect (but I think the line has already been dropped) using the screens icon on the sys tray. I then can't redial 'cause it says no dial tone but if I unplug the USB cable then replug the dial-up networking works.
Also, If I disable the USB ISDN device from the Divice Manager screen then re-enable it the DUN will connects ok.
Anybody any suggestions as to where the fault might lie?

Have you checked your computer manufacturer for updated bios drivers? Does sound like a USB issue

Hi Grinler,
Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't tried the mobo manufacturer yet but managed to locate updated drivers
on the British Telecom web site and downloaded and installed them.
It may well have been that the old drivers didn't work with USB 2.0 too well (which the new machine is)
so I'll try the new ones for a few days and let you know.
