We are currently using a Netgear router that is probably over 4 years old. (Which of course is thousands of years old in computer age )

I think it might be on it's way out because the u/l & d/l speeds on our laptops keeps fluctuating wildly. Any recommendations for a new wireless router?

I am running Vista; hubby is running Win7 on his laptop. Plus we have a "floater" laptop that runs Vista.

Thanx!

This new router has been getting great reviews. If you're a little handy, this is probably the one for you. If you wait a little longer, it's supposed to come with DD-WRT, but until then you'll have to do it yourself.

Only thing I don't like is that it isn't Gigabit LAN, but that might just be me being nitpicky.

If you want something that will work right out of the box with no hassles, this is a pretty good choice also, though Linksys doesn't seem to be as good as they used to be.

Good luck!

I would recommend this router as well. It's got gigabit and wireless n(2.0 draft i think) Worked for me right out of the box, no problems at all.
