Im growing grey hairs with this 3week issue..

I have a pretty old laptop Dell 600m 1gb ram running winxp pro service pack 3
and when i add my 1394 adapter in the slot and connect my camcorder through firewire windows doesnt recognize.
I called Canon to make sure all the setting are connected right for my camera and everything is working right.
When connected properly I get a indication on the lcd screen. But something isn't right.

Someone told me that I probably don't have the right drivers.
And trying to find someone with a firewire port either on the pc or laptop no luck so far

Ive bought 2 different card bus adapters and 2 firewire cables
This type of camera doesn't support usb to firewire cable which sucks because i bought on of those too
(unless theres some type of special trickery that im unaware of.lol)

Any kind of help is appreciated

im using a Canon HV30
