I need a hard drive caddy & have found this http://www.ebuyer.com/product/149278#overview. However it says 'Support Win98/SE/ME/2000/XP/Vista, Mac 8.6 or above' is it suitable for WIndows 7 ?

Yes it should as long as it runs on USB it should not require any third party drivers for it to operate.

Couple of things that might change your mind though:
Only suitable for laptop HD's and drives up to 320 GB? And also only for IDE drives.
