I'm running windows xp on an hp pavilion laptop. after successfully eliminating a rundll error (thanks to the suggestion of cryptodan to run 2 different programs to eliminate the problem) I am suddenly unable to read a pdf file. So I attempted to reinstall adobe reader 9. It could not be downloaded. the message was " reader download unsuccessful". Any ideas?

Over the years, Acrobat Reader has presented problems to various users.
I got so fed up with it that I uninstalled and now prefer one of the alternatives...which works just as well as doesn't present the problems that Adobe's product seems to entail. Foxit Reader is my choice.
