I think we should straighten out a few things here.

First and for all, =AC=, might I suggest you showing some respect here. Even though you do not agree with the advice someone else gives, that does not mean you can just start insulting them. The decision whether someone deserves the title of BC Advisor is not yours to make and if you think someone gives bad advice, you can either address that in a respectful/friendly way in the forums, or voice your concerns to a (global) moderator in a PM.

Now the issue at hand: logging, yes or no.
I think every user that faces this particular problem, should consider if he needs logging or not. To make that decision, first you should know what logging is, see here for an explanation.
So, basically, you can see the traffic through your router, what was blocked and what was allowed. This can be handy/necessary when troubleshooting certain problems. Turning off logging will not affect the routers firewall, which is essential to ensure your computers security.

Note that each router is different: some will allow you to see all kind of details, others will give you only basic information. Some will allow you to turn off logging, others won't (like my Huawei router).

Ok yes I agree I was on amazon the other day and my internet stopped functioning didn't know it was Amazon then. Went to the main page in Amazon today no problem connecting did a search and my Internet connection froze I checked out my internet icon in the bottom right on task bar had the yellow exclamation. I thought I lost internet connection rebooted cable modem and tried it again. Went to Amazon.com went and did the same search and I thought I lost internet connection again. Started to blame my son just a little so I unplugged all other computers, servers, xbox, etc... from router and only connected one computer the one I was using. Loaded up IE8 went and surfed the internet to see if it was going to crash no problems then I went to www.amazon.com it loaded perfectly did a search and lost internet connection with the yellow exclamation. Normally when I lose internet connection I can get into my router by IP address Login into Router (Linksys BEFSR81 Fireware 2.51.4) do a DHCPrelease and renew and that corrects my internet problems after Amazon couldn't even get into my router. I did a search for Amazon causes my internet connection to crash and found this website.

You know before I found this website I thought it might be God trying to remind me of the Lord is my sheperd I shall not want or maybe I thought I need to spend my money locally all in all Amazon lost a purchase today. I don't like my network to go down so I won't be shopping anytime soon. Maybe later.

God Bless America and all that it stands for.

What you can also try, is resetting the router. This will restore the factory settings. Note - this is not the same as power-cycling the router.

i'm a home user.i never had a problem using amazon when i had TWC. i now have att dsl..amazon began to down my connection and i wind up getting into my modem configurations. everytime i have visited amazon.com for the past month and a half,i log off their site to find myself with no connection at all.i watch my in and out connection speeds and it shows great speed occuring, yet the red x also being there clearly indicates i've lost connection..i usually wind up frustrated and out of energy long before i get things back to normal.what ive eben doing is logging into my modem configurations ,restarting my modem and when it's up and conected again i STILL generally have to shut down the pc,disconnect the modem, reconnect, etc. i had to follow this procedure many times over just to get back online again.i've all but given up using amazon.com(now i call it amazon.coma) this happens every time i go there now, even just to browse./what could POSSIBALLY be happening.i hate to stop using amazon but if i has ta i has ta.somebody mentioned disabling active scripting.i might try that,as it's probably the only thing i haven't tried ,short of killing a chicken while facing east and meditating with elves.btw,i have no hardware between my pc and my modem..no router..i'ma simple home user.but i've been online hard core since 1997 and i know enough to know that it's not my pc and at this point i'm certain it's not my modem./i'm baffled...

How do you know its not your modem, you are using a different modem/router then what you were using under TWC.
