Scratchy and distorted sound.

I have soundmax audio driver on windows XP. It is upto-date but the audio is always scratchy and distorted. Provide any solution for such a thing. No sound plays clearly. My speakers are alright. I hear same scratchy audio on my headphones. I updated my sound driver. Please help. :thumbsup:
