I rebooted the laptop. No changes. Won't connect to our router.

System Restore did nothing. However, I did find out that the laptops MAC address was not added to the router. I added it and it connected. This was after not having connection for 2 days. It is now connected and seems to be loading the pages. It's a God-thing! If this fix sounds like it was the problem, please, let me know. If it wasn't, again, let me know. Any info that you may need for discernment, I will do my best to accommodate.

Again, thanks for all of your help.

I understand, that is why I was saying while the laptop is off, unplug the routers power adapter for 30 seconds, then plug it back in, this sort of resets the firmware, then once the router has stablized for 30 seconds try starting the laptop back up and allow it to connect to the router, if you used the correct SSID name and password it will connect.

Now if your router is set up to only allow a connection that is OK'd in the router's ADVANCED WIRELESS SETTINGS menu there is a a feature called WIRELESS CARD ACCESS LIST and a button called
SETUP CARD ACCESS LIST once that button is pressed it will show the laptops' mac address and IP number, it is from there you allow it permanent access.

If you need an owners manual for the WGR614v9 Router there is one available in pdf format here http://kb.netgear.com/ci/fattach/get/27/12...7755/redirect/1 Please note you need Adobe reader to see this document and this can be saved to your desktop by clicking the little floppy disk icon in the readers menu bar.

Good luck.

Please take notice. Oreo and I will not be available until June of 2012.
Thank you for understanding my absence, it is job and college related, so all is good. If I do not answer your PMs this is the reason why. See you all soon!

Bruce.

Yeah. I unplugged the router for 60 secs., allowing things to reset. Then I was still not getting connection through the router. In fact, it was saying that when I went through cmd, that the wireless media was disconnected. I don't know how I did that. Oh, well, I won't play with it in that fashion, again. :flowers: In regards of disconnecting the media.

So, all in all, it was Norton that altered the system and created this mess. Or was it me when I bought Norton?

Either way, it is working now and able to connect properly w/o issues.

Thanks, again, MrBruce1959! It has been a pleasure and hope we can work together, again. Perhaps under better circumstances. Perhaps when I need to buy a new computer. :trumpet:

God bless!
