Help
Hello all,
I've recently downloaded Skype and am encountering an error message when I try to launch it.
The error message is as follows:
Skype.exe - Bad Image
The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\SHFolder.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
Does anyone know what this means and how I could fix it? I'm quite clueless when it comes to computers so any help would be appreciated. I use Windows XP Home Edition if that makes any difference.

FWIW: Bad image errors are often interpreted as malware presence.
I would try uninstalling Skype and see if the error remains.
I'd also do some serious malware scans and check the location of the shfolder.dll and the size. Start/Search...type shfolder.dll as the search string...select advanced search options to include system/hidden files...take a look at the location and size.
This system I'm on reflects two, C:\Windows\System32 and C:\Windows\System32\dllcache are my locations, with each file being 25KB.

Are you using a non-updated version of Windows XP or IE6?
My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.
