Opening dmg file in Windows XP pro do not need to burn a disc, just use the info

I inserted the disc I wanted and downloaded the info to my computer. When I tried to open the file I got a message that it could not be done because it is a type of MAC file. I read a bit on the internet about how to make the conversion, but the advice seemed to be about burning a new disc in Windows. I don't have a burner so it is not relevant. All I want to do is use the information in the file in order to be able to use a new printer.
Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Some drivers and extras for a new printer--HP C4580. Copier function works now but I want to be able to use the printer function, perhaps also the scan function. It has wireless too, not sure if I will ever use that or not, but I might.
