I had a problem lately with my browser. Whenever I open Yahoo Mail, my browser crashes. I usually use Firefox but same thing happen when I try to open it using Internet Explorer. I've been running AVG Free Edition and MBAM but both reported no problem.

Please help me with this. Thanks in advance! :inlove:

Things got worse. . .

My mother now complains about other sites which causes the browser to crash. These sites were actually legitimate sites. As I've mentioned before it's Yahoo Mail. Now my mother is complaining about Facebook.

Just wondering if anyone know what might be wrong with my machine?

I appreciate your attention to this matter. ^_^

Update the following:

Java
Flash Player
Quicktime

See if you still get the same crashing after updating those things. Out of date Java, Flash, Quicktime, etc...can cause browser crashes.

If you have installed Yahoo! Messenger, then disable its add-on inside the Internet Explorer. If this does not work, start by disabling all add-ons and enable them one by one checking if they are causing problem.

Thanks for your response!

I have updated my Java and Flash Player but not Quicktime. I think there's no quickime installed in my PC. Am I right to say that there's no need for this installation?

My problem regarding Facebook Apps was solved after updating Java and Flash Player but my problem regarding Yahoo Mail is not yet solved. I would be trying to disable all plug-ins and see if one of them causes the problem.

I would update you soon.

Well, to use Facebook chat, you have to have Quicktime installed (as far as I know), but if you don't use FB chat, then don't worry about it.

Try running Firefox in Safe Mode to see if the same crashing occurs on Yahoo Mail.

This might be of relevance: Firefox crashes when using Yahoo Mail

@KeyboardNinja:

Thanks to the link to the post of Firefox. That solved my problem! ^_^

Thanks.

P.S.

My mother is still complaining about crashing of browser whenever she opens a Facebook App.
I'll be updating Quicktime.

You're welcome. :flowers:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Facebook uses Quicktime on quite a few things. Updating it would be prudent (like I said in my first post here ).
