Windows Media Player and other movie players on my computer are working fine, but the audio does not work when I play any videos in a web browser (IE or Firefox). Also, the volume buttons on my keyboard (decrease, increase, mute) are not working and the volume icon will not show up in the task bar, even though I have that option selected. Any ideas? I'm running Windows XP.

Do you have any errors in Device Manager?
Did you try to reinstall sound driver?

No errors in the device manager and reinstalling sound drivers does nothing. I tried QuickTime in the browser and it works. It's only flash that seems to not be working. However, I tried reinstalling flash along with these other suggestions, http://www.codecguide.com/fix_for_flash_sound_problems.htm
but nothing worked!
