I open a video folder, and before l can select a video to play, Win Explorer crashes. It doesn't happen in all video folders. Please help; it's driving me crazy!

Thanks for the post. I got this message:

"The module "shmedia.dll failed to load." Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug to check for problems with the binary or dependent .dll files. The specified module could not be found"

My fault. That's for XP.

In Vista....

Open Windows Explorer, go Tools>Folder options>View tab
Checkmark Always show icons, never thumbnails option.

That works...thank you!

My understanding is that the reason win explorer crashes is that it previews each file, and if the file is too big, and there isn't enough memory, win explore crashes.

I like the thumbnails. Is there a way to disable the preview function and keep the thumbnails?

For movies, or pictures?

I suggest, you create several smaller folders for movies (Movies1, Movies 2, etc.), instead of one big folder and revers the change you just made in folder view.
