Lenovo ThinkPad Downloads Easy way to get the downloads

Before Lenovo, I had a ThinkPad for which it was easy to find and download helpful downloads. Most were nice extras.
I've just bought a newer recondtioned Lenovo ThinkPad, but I find it almost impossible to identify which downloads apply to my machine. How to get them is even worse. Is there an easy way, or do I just forget the benefits IBM used to give? Wish I'd got an HP or something with good download sites. Any ideas for an easy way with Lenovo? You need to be a computer tech to use the download area I found. Maybe Lenovo wants to sell to techs, not folk like me.

What is the model number of the Thinkpad you have? I looked at the Lenovo download site, it doesn't look too hard to navigate. It asks you for your model number then shows you what downloads are available for whatever OS you are using. Is this the site you are talking about? Lenovo Support
