There's a bit of a bug wherein certain hours/minutes use an inaudible tone. This is due to certain times being represented by unusually low or unusually high pitches. For this reason I recommend that you keep a dog nearby and permit them to appreciate the tones on your behalf -- an audio proxy, if you will -- especially before 12PM.

But just in case:
SHA1 Checksums:
b85b01a20ba37369501d8161c6c335ede3614a06 *hexclock.rar
52eee23247203d062f786235807023de287884b7 *hexclock.zip

Tried both downloads!

Andrew

Using winMD5sum, both checksums are different.
But the clock works fine from either .rar or .zip, just no sound.
Will get a dog.

Those aren't MD5 checksums. Those are SHA1 checksums.

The MD5 checksums are these:

c57e9115e63d705ece57747643bb2a98 *hexclock.rar
bee13ac32cc6cba06f10993aac4ad30b *hexclock.zip

Make sure that MIDI volume isn't muted. On my system, the MIDI synthesizer is called "SW Synth" but it may be something different on other machines.

Here's a video of it working, just in case you're curious. (You may need to turn up your volume to hear the tone)

Noted. Those checksums compare correctly, (and I now know what SHA1 hashing algorithms are all about).

It WAS the Midi SW Synth - the only control with the slider right down the bottom - weird, I never touched it, honest!
Works great pinned to Start Menu or Quick Launch.

Thanks again, am cancelling the canine.
