unexplained temp files temp tiles being created in temp directory

having unexplained temp files being created in the windows/temp directory when using internet explorer, numbers in the thousands.

Large numbers of temp files is very common, IMO even worse when you shop online. The temps should be cleaned on on a regular basis, you can use "disk Cleanup" in accessories or like many of us use an automatic cleaning program.
Owner of to many computers some new, some gathering dust!

these are just occurring not in the temp internet folder but the "temp" directory and not due to surfing or shopping or anything like that

Post a screenshot of said folder...also post the total size of files in the folder.
