Event Logs - clean up or not ?

Hi everyone. I was just wondering if there was any real purpose in cleaning up the event/security logs ?
The actual size they take up seems minimal and I'm pretty sure mine are set to overwrite themselves when they are full.
So I guess my question is - to clean or not to clean ? pro's/con's

Haha...no, cleaning the Event logs has no inherent value, importance, or benefits as far as I am concerned.

Sometimes the Event Log can get full, which can cause problems.

Thanks for the input guys. The link has also given something to keep in mind and has reaffirmed that I have the correct settings to avoid the "full" message - thanks for that Budapest.

While I was in there ( event log ) I noticed it has noted the occasions that I've had trouble powering down, logging off and rebooting. Having to manually turn off my pc isn't some big hassle but it does make me think there could be some minor glitch somewhere. I just hope it is not a sign of some other signifigant problem ?

If your log files get full you will be unable to login to any profiles expect that of the Administrator.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

Cool, thanks for all the links on my powering/logging off problems hamluis. I'll be reading up on those now.
