Hi,

I have a new laptop from HP and I want to get rid of the Bloatware and have a clean install from scratch on the main partition (1 of 2).

Problem is that there MBR has code in it to recognise F11 key press to initiate recovery from the recovery partition (2 of 2).

How do I backup the MBR, identify the part that denotes the f11 part and splice it back onto the new MBR after the clean install of win7 using the OEM key on laptop.

Damien

I thought HP gave you a chance to burn a copy of the OS to a CD or DVD.
