External HD problem?? Seagate 80 Gb

Hi,
I have had a Seagate 80gb external hard drive.But the problem is that whenever i access or copy,delete data the hard drive gets stuck
a scratchy sound comes and the hard drive freezes for 2 to 3 minutes also its Blue LED stop blinking.

It seems likely the drive has developed a fault. You could try testing it with the tools provided by Seagate:

The tests show no problem.
