how can I re-partition drive without affecting files already on it?

I have just ordered a new computer with win 7. It will have a 750GB hard drive. I would like to have at least 2 usable partitions. So, how can I take C and break into C and D? I don't want to affect anything already on the drive.

Use the built in partition manager.
