Nothing wrong with that bare bones combo as far as hardware (not a big fan of cheapie power supplies, but for that price.....). You still need a hard drive and an optical drive to get an operational system.

For 200 it is okay. Only 2 memory slots though which is weak. Still need an OS and at least $120 for the hard and optical drive. If it is only for web surfing and office work it would be fine.

Agreed, that is a standard home PC, not a gaming computer or video/photo editing PC. That combo has a case with a PSU built-in. That power supply is low-capacity and I suggest replacing it if you want to use a dedicated graphics card. The motherboard is also older and of Micro-ATX design with two DDR2 slots, again this is a home PC, not a gaming rig. The CPU is also fine for web surfing and productivity applications since it is Celeron. RAM is also low for a modern PC. You also need to factor in the OS and drives, so add on $150 to $200 onto the combo price.

$450 including s/h (to me anyway) Sure it's not the best system.But the mo/bo is loaded with features and plenty of expansion.Board is OC friendly.As well as fully expandable to the newest quad cores. Sure you start out with 4 gigs of ram.But in a week or 2 order another 4 gigs and your set for a while. The ATI card is not the cream of the crop but it still stands on the top 15 game cards released.ATI card will also have AMD overclock software. Nice little system till games start putting out DX 11 which is a while away.
Emachines are junk and that barebones is already outdated.Atleast with a build your in the current tech range.

That's actually a pretty good home PC sufe70 put together, however, an OS isn't included with the price, so add $104 onto it for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Yeah it's not bad. There's room to adjust the price up or down on the persons choices.He could build it for around $350 minus OS by simply going a little lower end on a PSU, ony 2gb ram, 1 HD, and a cheaper 4670.
Each is own. Myself I choose build whenever I have the chance
