Wikipedia Goes Down Server Troubles and DNS Headaches

Details are sketchy but it seems that a European datacenter suffered some overheating which caused an automatic shutdown of the Wikipedia servers used to serve Europe. This triggered a failover mechanism which was supposed to shunt European traffic to a datacenter in Florida, however some sort of DNS snafu has rendered Wikipedia inaccessible to large parts of the world.
Wikipedia admins say they have corrected the DNS issue but that it amy take an hour or more for the changes to propogate throughout the DNS system.

my girlfriend who lives in Wales says the first page with the language options loads fine, but if she tries to do a search it starts lagging when she uses the english option.
corroborated? :3 either way, hope they get everything fixed soon.
edit: Andrew, where did you get the flag in your sig? I love it!
