I usually go by "X", or my initials, "XH". I'm a "low end computer guru", most of the questions I post here will be on behalf of friends I'm trying to help, rather than for myself. But I like to learn things for my own sake, as well. My own personal machines (desktop and laptop) are running Linux (SimplyMEPIS 8) so I'm mostly immune to the sorts of things people are having problems with. Note I say "mostly", I'm well aware that even Linux boxes can catch nasties, and have ClamAV on both.

Of course, not having any Windows machines of my own to putz around with means I'm getting out of touch with m$ "one true way" of doing things, so that's why I need advice like this.

Hello xmarxtehspot and  to Bleeping Computer.

Please take a few moments to browse the New User Orientation forum, to help familiarize yourself with how the forum works.

Also, don't forget to check out the Tutorials.
There is a lot of very useful information there.
