I have installed more Ram about a week ago. There was 2 x 256mb cards installed already, and I bought 2 x 512mb and installed them alongside the 2 x 256 ones.

The diferrence was great - the internet pages loaded a lot quicker, but after a while, the internet drags very slowly.

Im wondering if I should have removed the old 256Mb Rams altogether. Would that affect the speed of the internet if the memory cards were not compatible together?

I have done the obvious things, like cleaning temp folder, cookies etc; but I get the same old thing. Quck at first then suddenly goes very slow.
I did an experiment. I was waiting for a page to load (seemed forever) whilst I powered up my laptop and went on the same webpage which loaded instantly!

Any ideas

When it slows down...take a look at the processes running in Task Manager.

I suggest also taking a look at whatever add-ons and toolbars you have installed...and removing some, if not all.

Now its gone really bizarre. Ive noticed that pages load quickly at first, but they never download fully - there is always 1 picture left for instance. Then some pages wont load at all.

I looked in event manager and found Event ID 1002 Dhcp - what is that?

I know its not my internet itself because my laptop works perfectly. Its only since I installed the new memory.

Need help please.

Hi there,

Try scanning for viruses with a tool such as MalwareBytes (Download: http://malwarebytes.org/) The free version is a great scanner.

And get protection such as COMODO Internet Security (Download: http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/) The free version is great.

Then also try running CCleaner and cleaning up your startup items (Download: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download )

I have run Malwarebytes and it found nothing.
