I'm only hoping this is a malware problem so I'm posting here first if it's the cause...
For the past couple days my router internet connection has been acting funky, hitting bumps with halts in connectivity acvitivity a handful times per day. I am using a wireless router called Netgear and it is setup for a couple computers, mine using a usb external router driver. Just a couple days ago I went into the system and made a static IP so that I could foward some ports for programs that conflict with the router, they now work fine. I'm suspecting the static IP change or something in the process may have something to do with it, but I'm hoping it's a simple bug that can be cleaned...
To restore connectivity I have the modem connection status icon in the taskbar: I click it to select "Repair" and normally works... but this happens too often per day now it has to be fixed.
I already scanned the computer with AVG and Spybot and got nothing.

May or may not be malware related, this is what I need to know and how to figure what's causing it. Much thanks in advance!
